The renovation will create student leadership space for the Student Association, Campus Activities Board and student organizations designed for collaboration, meetings and programming. This open-concept space reflects current approaches to creating a thriving student-centered 'student union' that helps bring students back to the heart of campus.
The new open and inviting lounge space will include natural lighting throughout the ground floor hallways, made possible by two new entryways to the ground floor.
On the south side, a new all-glass main entrance will overlook the Martin Luther King, Jr. Commons and face Founders Memorial Library.
On the north side, a new entrance off of Lucinda Avenue will provide accessibility to the entire building. Adjacent to the bus turnaround, a refreshed lounge space and the addition of a convenience store, with grab and go food options and convenience items, will make waiting for the bus much more enjoyable for students and the campus community.
The new Holmes Student Center (HSC) renovation is a picturesque scenario, dining paired with entertainment right in the heart of campus. The renovation will include the addition of a fully licensed Starbucks which will offer a full menu.
The remodeled multi-level Huskie Den/Grill will be a space where guests can relax and socialize with a game of bowling, billiards, and other entertainment, and/or, enjoy dining on appetizers, signature sandwiches, premium burgers, salads and so much more.
Overall, the HSC will provide students with both a relaxing environment and a broader menu from which to select amazing food options.
